I am writing to you on Halloween weekend, when the veil begins to thin between worlds. The way leaves fall from the trees making it possible to see further into the forest, also means it is a more potent time for connecting to other realms, conjuring magic, and releasing cords that no longer serve us.
One way to mark this transition time is by setting up a shamanic session with someone you trust or get a “good feeling about.” I’ve been offering sessions since I finished training in 2019 with Rose Khalsa, founder of the Polarity Center & Shamanic Studies. The training showed me how to be of service in the ways I have been guided my whole life, and I am so grateful for that.
What is a shamanic session like?
Shamanic journeys can be fertile ground for deepening connection to our ancestors and clarifying how we want to set up our lives to be more of service, in alignment with who we are becoming.
A lot of people come to me with “weird symptoms” that no doctors or healers are able to “figure out.” My training in shamanism allows me to communicate with spirits, guides, elders, and forces of nature that are not always visible in the Earth realm. More often than not, other people's “gunk,” as I call it, gets stuck on us especially if we are empaths. That is why I do daily cleansing rituals for clearing my energy field of what is not mine.
Also, people who have passed away (usually in traumatic ways or with unfinished business), but have not yet crossed over may be trying to make contact with us or latch onto our energy to feel safe. There are practices we can do together to compassionately release those people and support them through the Bardo, to the other side.
When are shamanic sessions necessary?
Whenever you wish, but especially if you are not feeling like yourself. Life events and changes can be appropriate times for shamanic work such as:
Imbalances and chronic illness
Moving to a new home
Starting new relationships or entering into union
Beginning new career paths or leaving a job
The death of a loved one or family member
The birth of baby in your family or community
Yearning for more peace and wholeness within
During the shamanic session, our Spirit guides direct the journey while I play the sacred drum or rattle. This is an opportunity to go deep within and journey to your highest guides. Each session is unique and may involve but not limited to: soul retrieval, extractions, blessing ways, discovering Animal and Plant Guides, communing with ancestors, healing deep wounds and trauma. The only thing you need to bring is your intention for the journey. It is a beautiful process devoted to serving you in the highest realm on your journey.
